Oil Delivery Slip Explained

SF-0071_winter delivery (1) (1)Despite January 2021 having been relatively milder than normal and even considering that our famous prognosticator Shubenacadie Sam did not see her shadow on Groundhog Day, we should continue to be prepared for anything but an early spring.  All folklore aside, it is likely safe to say we need to stay ready for cold temperatures, snow, rain and all types of winter weather the upcoming months can throw at us.

With furnaces continuing to work hard, oil deliveries will ensure you have plenty of fuel to keep your home cozy and warm. We hope this month’s blog topic will help take the mystery out of the Oil Delivery Slip that you will receive when your tank gets topped up.

Here is a guide to a line-by-line explanation of what you see on a typical slip:

A – Delivery address

B – Side of the house where oil tank fill pipe is located

C – Location of the oil tank (inside or outside the home) and tank capacity in litres

D – Customer account number

E – Customer mailing address

F – Date of delivery

G – Litres delivered, the current price per litre, net price and HST

H – 10% Provincial heating rebate

I – Local delivery area (used for sorting and assigning drivers)

Remember to use the delivery slip to pay your invoice by sending a cheque in the mail (do not send cash); with cash, cheque or debit at Scotia Fuels’ office; by way of on-line banking; or at a bank with a copy of the invoice. If you are on auto-pay or our budget plan, you can retain the invoice for your records.

We hope the above breakdown gives you a better understanding of the oil delivery slip and its components.
