In light of the recent wildfires that occurred in various regions of Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes, Scotia Fuels would like to address the potential harm inflicted upon fiberglass oil storage tanks.
It is important to be aware that any oil storage tank made of Fiberglass that has been exposed to fire or intense heat and shows visible damage must be immediately taken out of service and should not be reused.
The fire and heat may have compromised the tank’s material properties, leading to accelerated deterioration and posing a safety risk or the potential for a hazardous fuel oil leak.
If you are a homeowner and have concerns regarding the condition of your tank, please get in touch with us for assessment and inspection of your fiberglass tank.
